Civil Construction Estimator

Location: Mandeville, LA (Onsite)

Schedule: Full-Time | Mon–Fri (In-Office)

Experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join a professional Project Management Team during a phase of rapid expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project estimation, focusing primarily on heavy highway and civil infrastructure projects. You will work closely with family ownership to review bidding decisions, manage financial aspects of projects, and leverage local supplier relationships to ensure competitive and accurate bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bidding & Estimation: Execute precise take-offs of construction documents and review scope of work using state and federal specifications.
• Financial Analysis: Prepare comprehensive estimates by calculating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
• Vendor Management: Obtain and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and vendors; maintain a robust database of local resource information.
• Strategic Planning: Participate in departmental meetings to review bidding decisions for upcoming projects and communicate contract terms to all relevant parties.
• Project Collaboration: Work alongside the Project Management team to oversee the financial health and technical accuracy of ongoing civil construction phases.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) or Construction Management required.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in civil estimation, with a strong preference for Heavy Highway construction experience.
• Software Proficiency: Mastery of HCSS (HeavyBid) and/or P6 (Primavera) is required.
• Technical Skills: Strong ability to read complex contracts and construction plans; field experience is highly valued.
• Work History: A stable background with a proven track record of leadership and excellent communication.
