Job Overview
Seeking a precision-focused technical leader to serve as an Industrial Operations Specialist specializing in powder metal compacting. This role oversees the end-to-end production lifecycle of critical automotive components, including the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of high-tonnage mechanical and hydraulic presses. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure "Audit-Ready" documentation, and deliver exceptional quality through process optimization and technical mastery of metallurgical variables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precision Tooling & Setup: Assemble, set up, and troubleshoot die cavities, punches, and core rods to meet exacting density and dimensional specifications.
- Operational Mastery: Calibrate press settings, including pressure, compaction speed, and dwell time, for optimal production.
- Quality Guardianship: Conduct meticulous inspections of weights and dimensions using micrometers, hardness testers, and CMM equipment.
- Systems Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure "Audit-Ready" production.
- Process Optimization: Maintain detailed production records and participate in 5S and continuous improvement projects to streamline manufacturing workflows.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Technical Mastery: Mandatory hands-on experience with Cincinnati 550-ton presses and a solid understanding of metallurgical properties.
- Skill Set: Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Flexibility: Must be able to work the 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and remain shift-flexible, including weekends as required.
